Difference between =now() and =today() in Excel

Have you been wondering what the difference is between the Excel functions =today() and =now()? The two functions display the current date but the only difference is that the =now() function also displays the current time.

The two functions allow the date to be updated any time you reopen the your worksheet. If you do not want the date to be updated automatically, use the keyboard shortcut below in a cell where you want the date to be displayed.
CTRL+;
That is, use the CTRL and semicolon keys in a cell.
